MADGE’s report titled 'Fed up with FSANZ' said Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) is putting public health at risk from inadequately tested and virtually unlabelled GM food.
FSANZ has responded to MADGEs report. They criticized the study by Seralini et al’s (2012) that showed rats fed GM corn developed disease. They also claim that prosecuting food producers whose GM-free labelled food contains traces of GM directly benefits consumers who want to avoid GM food.
